Rest in Peace, Alison Two

Dishes 65 and 66: Caramelized Brussels Sprouts and House-made gnocchi, Alison Two, 424 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ft. Washington,

Alison Two was found in her home this evening, deceased, of complications from recession fever. She was just over a year old and is predeceased by her older sister, Alison of Blue Bell. She is survived by her founder, Alison Barshak, who is “committed to using local, seasonal ingredients in harmony with flavors and preparations from around the world”. She will be missed.

    Oh, that’s too bad. I was noticing that I hadn’t been getting menu updates from them. I’d been there a few times and yes it was good, but not great…the prices were a bit steep for what the food was…they probably couldn’t sustain that if employees from the nearby corporate centers were cutting back on their entertainment-account expenditures.

    Hope Alison One is still surviving. Ambler is a great little town. Love visiting from my hometown of Conshohocken.
